Primary Assistant Teacher - Chinquapin Oak

As an Acorn Montessori alumni, it has always been a philosophy engrained in me since I was in toddler house. In high school I was asked to help during after care and since then I knew that not only did the philosophy make sense and help children reach their fullest holistic potential, but Acorn Montessori approached this pedagogy in a kind and thoughtful way. Children make you think about things in such a different way than what the rest of the world is saying. It is so wonderful to see the light these children show when accomplishing something they thought maybe they couldn't have done, or something they naturally enjoy doing. Working with children in this Montessori approach lets the child truly shine in the best way they can and it's such a beautiful thing to see every day. Outside of Acorn I enjoy dancing -- I teach dance at two studios during the week after school, crafting, and spending time at home with my family. To end with a beautiful and universal Montessori quote, "Free the child's potential, and you will transform him into the world."
